Ideology

How it works

From a public statement to a line you can check

Every vetted line on this site goes through the same path: someone finds the source, someone else checks it, the owner signs it, and its fingerprint is published where neither of us can quietly change it. A line that is not signed yet is marked Not yet signed. Question wording is checked and signed the same way; changing it needs a new check by someone who did not write it, and a new signature.

Parties and candidates are listed in a new random order each time a page loads, so no one is always on top.

Check it yourself

Each vetted record has its own Check this record page with its election and id filled in. To check any record without this site, copy the public log and run its script:

git clone https://github.com/Macpire/ideology-integrity-log
cd ideology-integrity-log
npx tsx integrity/verify-record.ts --log <edition> <id> --repo .

This checks the signed copy in the log. Each record's own page also shows how to check that the text this site serves is that copy.
