Shas chairman Aryeh Deri and his faction filed Basic Law: Torah Study, under which someone who devotes himself to Torah study for a long period is recognized for that in his rights and duties.

In light of the centrality of the value of Torah study and its importance as service to the Jewish people, anyone who wishes to devote himself to Torah study for a long period will receive recognition of this with respect to his rights and duties.

Who should be allowed to certify food as kosher?

Source only

Shas MKs proposed repealing the kashrut reform, which the notes say let private bodies issue kashrut certificates too, and restoring exclusivity to the bodies authorized by law.

It is therefore proposed to repeal Chapter 17 of the Arrangements Law, which concerns “streamlining the kashrut system” and in effect contains the said reform.

When a court rules that a law conflicts with a Basic Law, who should have the final say?

Source only

Two Shas MKs proposed an override clause letting a Knesset majority enact a law that stands even if it conflicts with Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty.

The proposed override mechanism would allow the Knesset to enact a law even if it does not meet the conditions of the limitation clause in section 8 of Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty, provided it passed by a majority of Knesset members and states explicitly that it is valid notwithstanding the Basic Law.
